Insomniac AI is a veteran-owned AI agency built by a small-business owner, for small-business owners. Not scaled-down enterprise software: AI designed from the start around the problems owners actually live with. Missed calls. Leads gone cold. Reviews you never asked for. Not enough hours in the day. Here is the story of why it exists, and who you will be shaking hands with.

Hi, I’m Vinnie.
Vinnie Ingallinera spent 20 years as a U.S. Army Intelligence officer, working alongside Army Cyber. Two decades of turning messy information into decisions people could act on, and of learning that complicated technology is worthless unless it serves the person using it, taught plainly enough to brief at 5 AM.
When he retired, he did not go corporate. He took on the hardest job there is: he became a small-business owner, running an escape room and axe-throwing venue right here in the Augusta area. That chapter, missed calls and all, is why this company exists. He wrote about it in the founder story on the blog.
Veteran-OwnedFounded and run by a 20-year U.S. Army Intelligence officer. The habits carried over: do what you said, brief it straight, take care of your people.
He lived the problem first
Running the venue meant living every pain point this company now builds against. The phone ringing while both hands were busy. The website inquiry from Tuesday that nobody answered until Friday. The happy customers who never left a review because nobody asked, and the 9 PM follow-up texts that never got sent because the owner is also the receptionist, the marketer, and the janitor.
Big companies do not have that problem. They have entire departments so no lead slips. A small business gets one owner and two arms. That gap is not a talent problem or an effort problem. It is a coverage problem, and it was quietly costing money every single week.
Then he found the fix
The breakthrough was agentic automation: AI agents that do not just answer questions but actually do the work. Answer the call, qualify the lead, book the appointment, send the follow-up, request the review, and log all of it where you can see it. Software that covers the hours an owner cannot.
In 2025 he founded Insomniac AI LLC to build exactly that, purpose-built around small-business pain points instead of trimmed down from enterprise software. The result is the platform and services on this site, with pricing published in plain numbers because owners deserve a straight answer. The FAQ and the Night Shift blog carry the same no-jargon promise.
Why “Insomniac”?
Because our agents never sleep. Every small-business owner knows the night shift: the follow-ups you meant to send, the voicemail you will return tomorrow, the review sitting unanswered. It all happens after close, which is exactly when nobody is at the desk.
So we built the company around that hour. While you sleep, the agents answer the missed call, warm up the cold lead, reply to the new review, and line up tomorrow’s appointments. You wake up to work already done. That is the whole name: the business that stays up so you do not have to.
Local, for real
Insomniac AI is headquartered in Grovetown, GA, serving Augusta and the CSRA. That means real handshakes: Vinnie meets local clients in person, teaches on-site workshops in the area, and answers to the same community his clients serve. Remote clients get the same builds; local ones also get the coffee.
